Our first grade teacher is Mrs. Kathleen Lemieux and her assistant is Mrs. Donna LeBlanc.
First grade is a new learning challenge for children which I hope will be filled with fun, excitement and wonderful memories. First grade provides a multitude of beginnings to the students. In grade one they learn to read, which opens a whole new world to them. They begin to understand independence as they start to do individualized projects. The first grade curriculum consists of Language Arts, Phonics, Reading, Handwriting, Math, Social Studies, Science and Religion. Our classroom is one that is centered around Jesus Christ and his life. It is very important that we treat each other with dignity, respect and friendship. First grade is an important first step for children and I hope that our time together will influence each child’s school years here at St. Francis.
