Mrs. Bonville teaches grade 6,7,8 Religion and Language Arts - Grade 7 website
I teach Language Arts and Religion in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. One day a week my classes spend time in the computer lab where special projects concerning either or both Lang. Arts and Religion, while at the same time the students learn advanced computer skills such as Boolean searching techniques, advance Word and Publisher.
In the three levels of Lang. Arts classes we learn basic grammar techniques and well as different writing skills and proper composition construction techniques. We use the language texts from Loyola Press called VOYAGER and their supplemental workbooks.
In Religion class we use text from Sadlier, a top rated Catholic text press. In the sixth grade we use Sadlier’s WE BELIEVE series with a concentration in Old Testament. Each student has their own copy of THE BREAK THROUGH BIBLE, a study Bible written especially for middle school students published by St. Mary’s Press. We use varied teaching and learning tools to teach the foretelling of the coming of Jesus in the Old Testament.
In Religion class we use text from Sadlier, a top rated Catholic text press. In the seventh grade we use the Faith and Witness Series: NEW TESTAMENT, A COURSE ON JESUS CHRIST AND HIS DESCIPLES and a second text, LITURGY AND WORSHIP, A COURSE ON PRAYER AND SACRAMENTS. Each student has their own copy of the CATHOLIC YOUTH BIBLE, a study text for middle school students from St. Mary’s Press. We use varied teaching and learning tools to teach Jesus’ mission and his life and how his decouples carried on the mission after the Resurrection. Using the LITURGY AND WORSHIP text we study the various forms of prayer and both public and private worship with and emphasis on the Holy Mass.
In Religion class we use text from Sadlier, a top rated Catholic text press. In the eighth grade we use the Faith and Witness Series: CHURCH HISTRY, A COURSE ON THE PEOPLE OF GOD and a second text, CREED, A COURSE ON CATHOLIC BELIEF. Each student has their own copy of the CATHOLIC YOUTH BIBLE, a study text for middle school students from St. Mary’s Press. We use varied teaching and learning tools to teach how our Church came to be what it is today and the role it plays in creating Western societies and thought. Using the CREED text we study the four marks of the Church and how the CREED is a statement of the basic beliefs of our Catholic faith. Then we learn and discuss what it mean to be Catholic in our world today and how the CREED reinforces our believe.
